National Learn to Row Day is one of the most important days in the calendar for the East Bay Rowing Club. The 2017 edition did not disappoint, with a sold out event, a boathouse full of rowers, and a slightly overcast day that made midday rowing a little more forgiving.
The morning started off with a very exciting live interview on KTVU, where our Vice President of Operations, Tom Horton, talked about the club, the fact that we are offer one of the few public access to the Oakland Estuary, the success of our youth program Oakland Tech, and the value of rowing for wellness, fitness, and growing community.
All in all, the day was a complete success. The two week sessions filled up quickly and we hope that many went home excited to start a new sport that will bring them health, friends, and maybe some medals!
