RECAP: Head of the Lagoon 2014

Men’s 8+ (A) prepares to launch.

EBRC wrapped up its fall racing season with a strong showing at Head of the Lagoon in Foster City, CA, on November 9. The club derigged and loaded on Saturday, November 8, then turned up on Sunday for the second day of the regatta on flat water under a cloudless sky.

Intermediate novices settle into race mode with Coach Kirin Khan and returning coxswain Theresa Buckley.

At the final count, three boats brought home the hardware. Our men’s 8+ (A) and novice women’s 8+ (A) boats each took gold, and our men’s 4+ took silver. This marks the third gold in three races for this fall’s women’s novice crew!

Women’s novice 8+ (B) tackle their first race.

Head of the Lagoon was also the debut race for our newest novices, recruited in June and August. They put on a strong showing, coming in third to beat local rival Lake Merritt.
